Juicing is a direct route to cleaning up your daily nutrition, reducing your calorie intake and increasing your consumption of vitamins and minerals. At first, Juicing may appear to be work intensive, time consuming and expensive, but don’t buy into that misconception. Like all new healthy habits, there’s a learning curve you’ll need to walk through, but before long, it will become second nature. There you’ll be, cranking in your kitchen, chopping up fresh veggies and fruit, pressing it all down a chute and into a glass like a pro!
When my old ‘Juiceman’ Juicer didn’t survive the moving truck, I spent time researching different juicers on the market and decided to replace my old juicer with an Omega 3 Masticating Juicer. Why the masticating juicer? Well, I want to make a juice, not a smoothie and the masticating element separates the juice from the fibrous part of fruits and vegetables.
While you may experience a bit of sticker shock at seeing the retail price of an Omega 3 Juicer, don’t let that derail your enthusiasm. Large department stores regularly put their juicers on sale. Combine that sale price with a 20% off coupon and maybe even a gift card and in the end, you won’t be laying down much green for your new juicing machine. I found mine at a Macy’s and did just what I described and ended up only paying a little over $100.
I’ve been a juicer for some time now and you can read about my own initial foray into juicing via my Juicing Diary. Here’s where I experienced my own learning curve with juicing and also where it became a regular part of my life.
There is nothing comparable to all of those life enhancing vitamins and minerals sent directly into your system after a workout via a freshly made juice. Most of us have paid that hefty price tag for a juice at a juice bar or by the bottle. Save tons of green by making your own!
These days, I like to ingest a source of protein after I workout and the recipe I’m about to share with you delivers the goods via a cleaner, greener source of protein.
Green Citrusy Juice with Ginger and Protein
4 c of baby kale or baby spinach, or a mixture of power greens of your choice
1 stalk of celery chopped
1/2 of a cucumber sliced

2 spears of fresh pineapple, sliced or 1 grapefruit peeled and sliced
1 t of Green Protein Alchemy Powder - Click on the link to read about how incredible this superfoods powder truly is...
Green Protein Alchemy Powder can be found at most natural food stores... as well as online.
In addition to Green Alchemy, I also add a few other nutritional additives to my juice. It's important at this point to note, that I am not a nutritionist and I am not delivering professional nutritional advice. I am just a girl who juices and adds crazy stuff into her juice because it makes me feel good.
I'll add a photos of the additional nutritional potions and powders that I use. For now, let me simply list the amounts that I toss in ...
1.) Nordic Naturals Borage Seed Oil (GLA) and the Electrolyte drops - according to bottle directions… (borage seed oil is awesome for hair and nails. I add electrolytes because we lose electrolytes when we exercise and stress.)
2.) Green Vibrance: 1 teaspoon (more good greens beyond the greens in the Green Alchemy powder)
3.) Moringa powder: 1/2 teaspoon (loaded with amino acids that figured strongly in anti-aging research.
4.) Ceremonial Grade Matcha Green Tea: 1 t (anti-oxidant)
4.) Aloe Vera juice - 1 T for 10 days and then 10 days off. Repeat. (immune support)
5.) Flora-Essence - 1 T daily (immune support)
Run the power greens, the veggies and the fruit though your juicer.
Pour juice into a blender, add in any nutritional supplements and give a quick whirl … you can also just pour the juice into a screw top jar, add in any nutritional additives and give it a few good shakes.
Shake it up.
or … blend it.
Pour it into a glass. Enjoy
