Use The Power Of Your Mind
Leave Worry Behind

It’s wonderful, when we can sense that our perspective on a situation is spiritual in nature.  There’s a feeling of deep, abiding peace and our outlook is calm and unhurried.  We can wrap ourselves in this emotion quite easily, when walking along a lush, forest path where God’s creative genius is manifested in a pine bough, a woodland violet or the flash of blue, as a bird maneuvers through the canopy overhead.  Can we bottle this feeling and take it with us? I think it’s possible ... with practice.  I often think of myself as a spiritual apprentice, as I learn how to remain in alignment with spiritual truth while walking along a far different sort of path, known as daily life.

One of the lessons we apprentices learn, is how to uphold others, whenever they appear in our thoughts.  It does nobody any good, whatsoever, when we allow our thoughts to turn downward towards worry, anxiety or even anger and hate.  Negative thoughts attract more negative thoughts and soon we find ourselves far, far away from the peace that enveloped us on that quiet, forest path.  If I learned one thing, it’s that maintaining an alignment with that Divine Presence at the center of our being is a priority and we can do this when we guard the caliber of our thoughts.

When we hold the image of another person in our mind, it benefits all when judgement is kept at bay and instead we remind ourselves, that they too are God’s beloved creations; despite our opinion on how they live their lives and interpret the world.  Haven’t we all learned by now that worry solves nothing, adds nothing and changes nothing?  It’s as useless as jealousy, envy and spite and when our thoughts start careening down that crazy road, it’s time for a new direction.

We can pivot our thoughts away from the negative and back on a positive track by taking a deep breath and thinking about something we love.  Easier said than done perhaps, but like everything else, practice makes perfect.  Try it the next time a worrisome thought starts taking root in your mind.  Kick it out and replace it with something beautiful.

Instead of worrying about or judging someone, we might consider visualizing them in their ideal state; that is, as someone who is happy and fulfilling God’s purpose for their lives.  It’s a much more constructive way to hold a person in our mind.  It’s God’s business to lay opportunity in a person’s path and help them awaken to truth, not ours.  God creates delicate flower petals, magnificent mountains and the wonder of the human body and in all of that, there is a divine pattern whose intricacy is beyond the full scope of our understanding.  In light of this perfection, we know who is more equipped at guiding another person towards the light of truth, and it’s not us.

It’s a definite change in our approach, as we use our thoughts to assist others in place of the usual, ‘going into action’ mode.  We can become quiet within and allow our child-like faith in God to craft an intention for another human being and send it out into the Universe with love and affirmation.  Underscore your intention with feeling, as well as a rock solid belief that is received and is doing good.

The positively, engaged mind is described as “dynamic energy” by Charles F. Haanel, and thoughts that are formed in such a focused mind have the power of a “vibratory force”.  Sending such energy, power and love out into the Universe on behalf of another human being is far more constructive than worry or any of our controlling behaviors.  Free yourself, use the power of your mind and unleash good intentions into the network of divine energy known as the Universe for anyone that crosses your mind, be they friend or foe.
