Inner Light

During both the smooth days of our lives and those days that are a bit more stormy, the most important place for us, to focus our attention on, is within ourselves.  This is the first place we go to, this is the first tool we use, this is the first thought we have, as we endeavor to return to a more peaceful ‘Now’ moment.  We go immediately to where ‘The Light of Christ’ resides, which is in our hearts.

This is the piece of eternal life that God has placed within us, it is pure, innocent, perfect and calm… always.  It is here, that we can focus our full attention and regain peace, calm, poise and balance from the flame of His Light.  It helps when we can incorporate other practices into our lives such as clearing our energy, spiritual reading and the beauty of crystals, but first and foremost, we remind ourselves daily, that we already possess the most powerful tool of peace known to life and it is the presence of Christ found in our hearts.  It is where the ‘Now’ moment is always present. Go there.  Be there.

Seek out this place where the Light of Christ resides through inner communion, meditation or just a moment of silence in the midst of a busy day.  Breathe deeply as you bring your attention to this place of perfection within you.  Inhale the peace Christ freely gives you and exhale all tension and discord.  Remind yourself that God loves you and so it is important that you love yourself, forgive yourself and extend this love and forgiveness to the world.

Your true self is here, your “I AM”, and everything we need is within ourselves.  It’s the home of our personal power.  We make life so complicated when in fact it’s simple.  Although it is not easy to love ourselves and love one another, this is the simple directive that we have been given.  Begin by loving yourself.  Cultivate the habit of withdrawing into the temple within, where you can always find stillness, peace, calm, poise, beauty and the Love of God for you.
