BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches and Baby Back Ribs
BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches
4 pound pork shoulder roast
BBQ spice rub
1 c sugar,
1 c salt
½ c brown sugar
4 T chili powder
3 T ground cumin
4 t Accent seasoning blend
2 t cayenne pepper
4 t black pepper
4 t garlic powder
4 t onion powder
4 t celery salt
4 t paprika
Mix well and store unused portion in a container
Cover roast completely with BBQ spice and wrap really well in heavy duty foil. Place on baking pan and bake at 325 degrees for 3 - 4 hours. Roast is done when meat is falling off the bone. Depending on your oven, it could be ready at 3 hours baking time or could take 4 hours. Pull out the roast at 3 hours and check it.
When roast is done, allow to sit for 5 minutes on the counter. Remove foil wrap and meat should fall off the bone. Remove all the fat. Pile meat onto hamburger bun and top with your favorite BBQ sauce.
Baby Back Ribs
4 racks of Pork Baby Back Ribs
Cover 2 cookie sheets with foil
Cover each rib rack completely with BBQ spice
Wrap each rack in heavy duty foil. Two rib racks per
Cookie sheet. Bake in 325 degree oven for about 3 hours.
Check ribs at 3 hour mark. Ribs are done when they are completely tender. It may take more than 3 hours. There will be a lot of grease when you open up the foil packs, be prepared to pour it off into the garbage.
At this point, slice each rack into individual rib servings. Return them to the foil covered cookie sheets and slather with favorite BBQ sauce. Crank the oven up to broil. Return ribs to oven. Broil sauce covered ribs for just a few minutes. Watch them closely, This last step only takes a few minutes
