Article CopyMake Your Dream A RealityIt all started with an idea and a passion to write. Had I known the perils of the journey would I have pressed on? I have to answer yes, since I never did receive that map to the path of least resistance. Have courage budding writers, you too can publish! Set aside a regular time to write and show up to work. Begin, simply begin. Read no more than two books on writing, then put pen to paper. Do your research, outline your article or novel and begin building it, word by word. Upon completing my historical fiction novel, Whispers on the Wind I submitted it everywhere and everyone turned me down. I kept at it and finally my novel was picked up by the now defunct Moondance Publishing; a partnership publishing company. I had their contract picked over by an attorney and thought all was legitimate, but that was not the case. Moondance took my money but never published my novel. I ended up taking the publisher to court in Pennsylvania. I won my case but haven’t seen a penny. Ok. What now? I looked into self-publishing my novel and knew I was up to the challenge. What kept me going, you might ask? By now, several people had read Whispers on the Wind and they believed in this novel. In fact, they were already clamoring for the sequel which, by the way, has been started. So, I invested time in checking out printing firms, setting up my business, building a web-site and working on marketing. Believe me, if I could do all this anyone can.
