Beautiful Montana!

Photo Journal of our trip to Glacier National Park

Here I am taking a break

from canoeing on Lake McDonald

located on the west side of Glacier National Park.

and... a shot of my wonderful husband Chris

As you can see, we were blessed with incredible weather.

We drove the length of the 'Going to the Sun' Road

which winds through Glacier Nat'l Park

- the photo below was taken along the way.

Located along the drive on Going to the Mountain Road is a wonderful stop - Logan's Point.

A Ranger's station is found there, along with facilities. They have a high powered telescope set up and we were able to view a Big Horn Sheep.

There's also a wonderful 3 mile hike where we saw mountain goats, ice cold glacial streams and incredible panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

The photo below was taken at the end of the trail.

Smile much? The scenery behind me is just stunning isn't it? (obviously I'm so relaxed that I'm not worried about striking a pose)

Here's a shot of the 'Going To The Sun' Road

After spending a few hours at Logan's Point, we got back onto the road and stopped off to take a look at an active glacier - seen through the trees in the shot below.

Past Logan's Point and along the Going to the Sun Road you come upon the breathtaking and immense St. Mary Lake.

During our visit to Glacier National Park we stayed in Whitefish, Montana near the west gate of the Park.

By the way, horseback riding inside the park is found just after you enter through the west gate and I highly recommend it.

I rode a Palomino/Draft horse named Sonny - probably the most powerful horse I've ridden and a beautiful animal...

Whitefish is a quaint little town - good restaurants and some shopping.

We had an amazing breakfast at Swift Creek Cafe and you must stop there during your stay!

Glacier National Park - put it on your travel list - it's beyond spectacular.

Weekly Meditation

May there always be work for your hands to do.

May your purse always hold a coin or two.

May the sun always shine on your windowpane.

May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.

May the hand of a friend always be near you.

May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you
